It’s the last full week of November and a holiday here in the states so I’m going to keep this one short as I’m sure many of you have travel plans or will fill your week cooking and spending time with those you love. I will say, please pay extra attention to Thursday’s card and even invite your friends and family to participate, perhaps reading it aloud at dinner. It's a beautiful card and I felt like it couldn’t have been any better for the day.
A reminder that I'm not going to be sharing photos just because this isn’t one of my decks and Fiona is a good friend. But, I highly recommend this deck if you don’t have it already. It's so beautiful and the black sides bleed a little bit so now each card is starting to look like it's got a bit of smoke on it. It's so beautiful.

In its most core message, this card invites you to spend time with animals and to forge the bond with our feathered and furry friends. In the more abstract sense, this card guides you to have some fun or rather, not to take life so seriously. Laugh as much as you can today. Watch funny videos, play pranks on others, do something silly and enjoy life. There’s plenty to be upset about these days but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your life. Live for those who don’t have the freedoms you do. Imagine someone in a war torn country for example. Do you think they wouldn’t take the chance to celebrate even the smallest thing given the opportunity? Don’t waste the gifts you’ve been given by only focusing on what’s broken in the world. Hug your kids or friends or family. Indulge a little, be a little late or just take a break to relax. Trust me, the problems will still be there when you get back so there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself space to feel as much joy as you can.

The way to get through life with peace is to learn how to respond to challenges differently. Focus your energy today and learn how to say “I’ll be ok” and actually believe that. This card encourages you to find ways to nourish your spirit. To root yourself so that when strong winds blow you again—not if but when—-you’ll be able to stand the force.

The other message of this card is to step outside of your comfort zone. While home is where you are, there’s also nothing wrong with wanting a community of like minds. But, you have to be willing to share yourself with others for that to happen. Just like you have to be willing to try different things in pursuit of your purpose. It's a romantic notion to think things will suddenly appear on your doorstep but darling, no one is going to mail you your dreams while you sit in your pajamas at home. Be brave, be open and be prepared to take opportunities when you get the chance.

This is such an interesting card and actually, there are many cards like this in the deck. Cards that represent a positive expression of male energy. The Green Man appears to say don’t fear the masculine. It's true that masculine energy has expressed itself through unhinged manifestations over much of human history but that’s changing right before our eyes. Feminine energy is learning to channel the masculine while tempering its more aggressive traits. We need the masculine to help us embrace the energies of abundance and expansion, we just have to learn to use it in a positive way. This card is a reminder that prosperity is a birthright as long as it doesn’t drift into greed. You can desire for more while also staying true to your values. You do not need to be evil to be wealthy or hurt others to have ambition. The Green Man may appear dangerous but he is neither dark nor light. He brings both into balance and guides you to do the same.

Sometimes you just need to splurge on yourself a bit. Live it up and celebrate just because you can. Life shouldn’t just be about paying the bills. You deserve something special from time to time too. It doesn’t have to be often but every once in a while, give yourself permission to be a little bit spoiled. Today seems like a perfect day! While you’re buying Christmas presents, make sure to buy yourself one too. If you need a reason why then look no further than everything you’ve done this past year. If you accomplished something, hit a milestone or frankly just because you made it through a challenging year, then you deserve something to bring a smile to your face. And don’t forget to look beyond the material as well. Treat yourself to a few quiet moments alone or to that extra cup of coffee. This card isn’t just about spending on yourself. It's about recognizing you’re worthy of living the high life too.
