I’m so excited to be back into the swing of things after the holidays. The break was incredibly restorative and fueled so much clarity. I told my members but for those who aren’t enrolled in my membership, I have decided to close my apothecary membership in favor of teaching tarot. I have wanted to dive deep into not only teaching how to read tarot and oracle cards but how you can go about making your own decks either for personal use or sell. I’ve written a grand total of 11 decks now and I absolutely love the process. Plus, I have so many tips for creating decks. I love being an author and looking forward to moving into this new phase. So keep your eyes peeled for my tarot membership launching in just a few short weeks.
This month, I’m using the Tarot of Mystical Moments for daily draws. I have always loved the idea of starting the new year with a surreal like energy and this deck definitely fits this description. One last note, the 2025 Tarot Almanac will be ending soon so don’t miss your chance to get a PDF forecast of the year. You can purchase it here.

→ Queen of Wands
The Queen of Wands is bright, charismatic and expressive. She’s the kind of person everyone either wants to be like or wants to be in her company. As an evolutionary energy, the queen of wands represents confidence and authenticity. She encourages you to be true to yourself and in doing so, finding the fuel that helps you to shine your brightest. She brings you this message: you cannot radiate your true light by pretending to be someone else. You are the only person, the singular person on this planet and indeed this universe who knows how to be you. You have gifts that are uniquely yours and were given to for the sole purpose of helping you step into your preordained purpose. Don’t waste the beauty of who you are by pretending to be someone else

→ Queen of Pentacles
The Queen of Pentacles is nurturing, choosing to be a mother in every sense of the word. You do not need to have children to embrace the energy of this queen. A mother is simply another word for a nurturer: someone who cares for something with all their heart. You can express this energy through loved ones both in relation to you and ones you’ve chosen to hold dear. You can embrace this energy by nurturing a project or supporting a cause or lovingly tending to a garden. The queen of pentacles message is this: give your love to whatever gives you love back. Nourish that which feeds you in return. It doesn’t matter where that love originates from as long as it's done with care and joy in your heart. Today, take some time to think about what you’re nurturing in your life right now and if you can honestly say it's reciprocated.

→ Five of Wands
In its essence, the five of wands is about competition. While generally considered a challenging card, it can lead to a positive outcome. Sometimes competition is good. Sometimes it's the push needed for someone to rise to the occasion or to find an innate gift for leadership or excellence. Competition can also be fun and stimulating. However, competition can easily tip the balance towards conflict and aggression. The good news is it's your decision to decide how you’ll respond to an opponent. There will always be a challenge with the five of wands. This card appears because someone is blocking your easy path forward. But obstacles are where greatness is born and you’ve been given this gift to see if you’ll be able to sink or swim.

→ the Magician
The Magician as an archetype is someone who can manipulate the elements around them. They are a witch, a shaman, a weaver who can create worlds out of rubble and conjure magic with their thoughts. In the more practical sense, a magician is someone who believes in themselves. They’re someone who doesn’t doubt their ability to set and achieve a goal. When this card appears, it's to inform you that you can be such a person. You can wield your own form of magic when you stop playing small and start trusting in yourself to channel the energy around you. And I don’t mean this in the woo woo sense. I don’t mean pulling stardust out of the aether and turning that into a million dollars. I mean making a choice for yourself. Being able to say I can do it and mean it. The Magician’s magic is no different from anyone else’s except that he truly believes he can do anything.

→ Four of Cups
For many years, I believed the four of cups represented boredom or a lack of interest but we never really knew that to be true. We’ve assumed that’s the meaning because in the Rider Waite version, the figure looks away from the cup being offered to him. But consider this, what if the figure simply didn’t want the cup? Not because he isn’t bored or uninterested but because he’s content with the three cups he already has. Or perhaps he’s weighing his choice against what he already has? Maybe taking the fourth cup means he has to sacrifice the others? And its in the “maybe” that we truly get the meaning of this card which is taking a moment rather to contemplate or just to withdraw or to be present. You are being asked to take such a moment today; to slow down in your decision making rather than blindly accepting what is being offered.

→ Knight of Cups
I love this image of the knight of cups. This knight is typically viewed as a romantic but I sometimes see this card as a manipulator of the heart. Here, the knight is playing the heart like an instrument, using it to play a song of her choosing. I think the knight of cups loves love but not always the person that love is directed towards. The knight of cups is someone who lives in the moment and can fall in love with something new every second of the day. So rather than viewing this card as one of romance or even passion, I believe this card is about following your heart even though there are times when it might hurt or confuse others. Of course the shadow of this would be intentionally manipulating others for your personal gain or enjoyment. That’s all together different from the collateral damage of following your heart’s needs.
