Keeping this one short as I will be away by the time you read this. Today is my official birthday and I’m taking some much needed time to rest and recharge after finishing the next leg in the Seasons of the Witch series. There’s an entirely new and different but very related series coming and while I absolutely loved working on it, it was so much harder than I could ever imagine. I’m glad I had this trip planned because my brain is burnt at the moment. I can’t wait to connect with you all again soon.
I’m not going to be sharing photos just because this isn’t one of my decks and Fiona is a good friend. But, I highly recommend this deck if you don’t have it already. It's so beautiful and the black sides bleed a little bit so now each card is starting to look like it's got a bit of smoke on it. It's so beautiful. → Celestial Queen
The celestial queen guides you to lean on the wisdom of the past today. To know that there is a well of knowledge spread over millennia that you can access at anytime. We all have blood DNA flowing through our veins which provides us with the knowledge and experience of our past relatives. While we may not be able to name them specifically or know who they are and what they did, we can connect with them through our shared heritage and use that connection to guide us in this life. You also have cosmic DNA which connects you to the world at large. An un calculable number of people have gazed at the night sky for years, a shared experience with the human race. Like your ancestors, you won’t know their names and faces and yet, you can take in the same wisdom others have done and continue to embrace now. If you can, go out tonight and gaze at the night sky. What do you think of when you look at it? What words or feelings come to mind? Then reflect on this wisdom before going to sleep. How can you carry this experience with you for the rest of the week?

→ Disenchant
This is a powerful card of protection. It appears when no matter what you’ve gone through, you are protected from harm and will be ok. There are forces working well beyond what you or me can comprehend. It may seem like the world is crashing down on you but there is something, even a tiny something that is working on your behalf, keeping you out of harm’s way. This card comes with a second meaning which is to be your own protector. To know that you do not have to engage with anyone who causes you harm. You don’t have to respond to cruel words or behavior, you don’t have to entertain things that don’t feel good to you. You can choose to remove yourself from a situation, even if only temporarily. Know that you have the right to protect your own energy, to set boundaries for your well-being and self-care.

→ Hearth
Hearth reminds you that home is wherever you are. That you always belong right within your own spirit. You can always choose the path of warmth, kindness, joy, and authenticity. No one needs to validate your choice to be the most true version of yourself. Your permission is the only thing that’s required for you to live a life you enjoy. The other message of this card is to step outside of your comfort zone. While home is where you are, there’s also nothing wrong with wanting a community of like minds. But, you have to be willing to share yourself with others for that to happen. Just like you have to be willing to try different things in pursuit of your purpose. It's a romantic notion to think things will suddenly appear on your doorstep but darling, no one is going to mail you your dreams while you sit in your pajamas at home. Believe me, I’ve tried. Be brave, be open and be prepared to take opportunities when you get the chance.

My favorite card of the entire deck, not just because of the glorious imagery but the message. This card guides you to balance masculine energy with the feminine. Not to deny masculine energy or to replace it with the feminine but to see the two as a pair of equals. You have both masculine and feminine energy and this is true for everyone regardless of your gender identification. There will be times when you need the forceful and confident energy of the masculine and times when you need the soft, intuitive energy of the feminine. Most days and especially today, you need both. The masculine setting the course while the feminine holds the vision of purpose and directs the masculine towards compassion and love. Your advice for today is to embrace both sides. To know that you can be assertive while also being soft, confident while also open to new ideas, and in flow while charting a very clear path for your future. One can’t exist without the other nor does one need to be more in control than the other.

This card beckons you to respond to oppression with inner power and strength. To understand that you are not going to be accepted by all, especially as you step more fully into your authenticity. There will be people who won’t understand your choices or even worse, may try to stamp you out because your values do not align with theirs. And yet, walking proudly in the truth of who you are is your greatest super power. It may not be easy but each time someone comes against you, you’re building your resilience. You’re learning how to keep going in the face of challenge and that skill will carry you to greatness. Powerful people do not reach the top by giving up in a fight. Instead, they face the hurt and pain and frustration because it makes them stronger. It expands their capacity to hold and manage what comes their way. You, my darling, can do the same. Thank those who come against you because unbeknownst to them, they are actually teaching you how to defeat them with every blow they throw.

Each choice you make for yourself is an expression of what’s within. Your thoughts, actions and words painting the canvas of your physical experience. You have received this card today to encourage you to move through the world with intention. Whether you choose to showcase your art in the traditional sense of the word such as sculpture, drawing or dance or you prefer to express your art through the clothes you wear, choosing a pen in a vibrant color, or using your talents to bring joy and meaning to someone’s day. The point is to be deliberate in calling yourself an artist, knowing that you have something beautiful to share.

Furnace is a card of release and it guides you to reflect honestly on what you need to let go of. Take today to think through what’s been holding you back. Is it a person, a fear, a poor habit or perhaps your location? You are being challenged to release so that you have more space, feel lighter and more free to move through the world the way you’re meant to. There’s still so much for you to be and do but you aren’t able to see it while you’re being dragged down by things that are stealing your vitality and joy. This card also reminds you to trust in your ability to know what you need and what you do not. You already know when something or someone is standing in your way. Listen to your heart and choose the path which serves you most.
