→ Sex Magick
The word sex often makes people feel uncomfortable or dirty even though it's a perfectly natural part of life. Why would sex be the pathway for creating life if it’s something we should deny? Uninhibited people are often viewed as being problematic but what exactly have they done wrong? They enjoy their bodies—so what? Sex is considered filthy because at some point, society decided that’s what it is. Society could have just as easily decided orgies were a necessary part of life or that sex is a sacred act. This card is all about breaking free from society’s expectations or limitations of you. You can decide what’s right and wrong for your unique path. Sometimes that will require you to enter self-exile; breaking free of people who aren’t openminded enough to understand you. Don’t worry for you won’t be in exile for long. Just enough time to find a community of shared minds who are happy and free to live outside of societal norms. Some of these people might be witches or atheists or nudists or intellectuals or farmers. Whatever you are, there is a group of people who will accept you. But first, you have to learn to accept yourself.

This card questions your faith in the universe? Do you truly believe in yourself? Do you truly believe the universe has your back? Do you truly believe your intentions will come true once you set them? Stop and really think about these questions before answering. You may believe it's possible to manifest but that doesn’t mean you believe it's possible for you. You might believe it's possible to have a soul mate but that doesn’t mean you believe it's possible you’ll meet yours. If you don’t actually believe you can do and have something, then you don’t actually have faith in the universe. And if that’s the case, the universe will say “ok, you don’t trust in me then I just won’t show up for you.” You might not even realize you don’t believe. It may be so rooted in your subconscious that it isn’t something you’ve ever truly thought about. Well today is the day to answer the question of faith honestly. And if you find that you don’t really believe in what’s possible for you, then you’ll need to get to work changing your opinion.

Rowan offers a message of protection. That isn’t to say nothing will come against you. To be protected doesn’t mean you will never face an obstacle or opponent. It means you’ll come out of it ok albeit with a bruise or two but ok nonetheless. Rowan invites you to reconsider what it means to be guided and what it means to know things are working out for your highest good. There is no path that will be free of hardship, no amount of praying that will keep danger from your door. You will always make mistakes, have failures, trust in the wrong people or take a wrong turn. That’s just what it is and the best thing you can do is learn to accept this fact as a part of life. The next best thing you can do is to know that despite all of that, you will be ok. Lessons learned from mistakes will become breakthroughs and failures will become stepping stones to success. Hardship will build character and strength and opponents will force you to step up your game. And you’ll come through all of that safely on the other side. You are protected my darling, you just need to understand what that protection actually means.

There’s always a chance for you to experience more. To be more. To do more. It's time to make those calls, sign up for those classes, or pick up and move halfway across the world. Take the chance. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to experience the fullness of your being. A plant grows and grows as big as it can. As long as there is nourishment, it will continue to thrive and expand, seeking every out hole and crevice until it can break free on the other side. You can do the same, darling. You can keep reaching for more, seeing just how far you’re willing to go.

Today, spirit wishes to remind you that life revolves in a circle. No cycle lasts forever and nothing truly ever dies. Things are renewed and recycled in an endless swirl of life, death and rebirth again and again and again. Which is a fancy way of saying you never run out of opportunities to find love, make more money, experience success, or become a new version of yourself. Your age doesn’t matter nor do your mistakes. There will be a new day to try again as many times as you need to get things right. Don’t give up hope. It may seem like your troubles are never ending or that a new problem is all too eager to pick up where another left off but that won’t always be the case. Sometimes you have to experience a prolonged period of unfortunate events but the good thing about that is you’ll also experience a prolonged period of blessings and joy. Rejoice in the idea that this too shall pass and when it does, the happy cycle you find yourself in will be all the more sweeter for what you have endured.

There are spirits around you, waiting for you to ask them for help and guidance. It can be challenging to speak to something or someone you can’t see. Likewise, speaking to your ancestors can feel difficult when you don’t know their names and faces. But you don’t need to. You can simply speak out into the either, requesting only those who have your best interests in mind to greet you. They will hear your words and act on your behalf. It will seem silly at first to speak to the air but learn to move past that. There is so much in the world and outside of it that we humans know nothing about it. You don’t need to understand how it works to take advantage of it. You just have to trust that you are supported at all times.

→ Indulgence
Indulgence is one of my favorite entries of this deck. Yes, indulgence can mean eating that box of chocolate or splurging on a new outfit but it doesn’t have to mean that. It can also mean learning to love yourself. Indulging in the joy of your being. Or fighting hard for your right to feel worthy. It's a hard battle to learn to love yourself, command respect, set boundaries and to invest in yourself. It takes a lot of courage to say “I matter too!” But when you do the work to experience the pure joy of knowing you deserve whatever it is you want, it unlocks you in a way no spell or ritual or bath can do. To me, that’s what it means to indulge. To truly stand tall knowing no one can cut you down because your worth comes from inside. It isn’t something that can be stolen away, not unless you give it away. Does that mean you won’t seek validation? Certainly not. We all love to be validated but the difference is that you won’t need it. You won’t need to live for anyone’s approval but you’ll damn sure welcome it when the praise comes because you earned it.
