Seasons of the Witch: Beltane Oracle with The Witch’s Apothecary
Beltane sits exactly halfway between spring and summer. It's a sabbat of ignition, where seeds of intention set during Ostara spark desire, devotion and ultimately action. It's more than just a fire festival. It's a threshold between the acts of dreaming and doing. Between attraction and embodiment. This sacred day marks the moment when you can finally say:
I am no longer waiting to become.
This is the moment when you’re moved to take meaningful steps towards growth, expansion, and ultimately shining your light. Let’s use tarot to lean into this energy with this powerful ritual.
What Beltane Really Awakens
Beltane brings to mind a lot of things. It's the most sensual of all the sabbats but sensual doesn’t only mean sex nor passion or lust. You can experience a sensual relationship with life, choosing to embrace all of the delicious sensations life has to offer. From the juicy bit of a ripe strawberry to the warmth of a growing spring sun.
Beltane is also about fire which can be destructive and chaotic but it can also be motivating and exciting. Beltane invites you to think about what encourages you to take action. What’s most important to you right now? What are you naturally drawn to? What’s caught your attention? Give air to these embers, allowing them to grow until they consume you with passion and the energy needed to make your dreams come true.
Fertility is another Beltane theme but not just physical birth. There are many ways to experience birth in life that have nothing to do with the physical body. You can birth an idea, birth a nascent relationship, birth a new way of being. The point is to look beyond the literal definitions of these words and consider how they can exist from a new perspective.

The Tarot Ritual – The Fire You Carry
Beltane occurs during the zodiac season of Taurus which means this is a natural time to invite beauty and sensuality into your rituals. Create sacred space by adorning your tarot table with fresh flowers, scented candles, anointing oils, incense, rich fabrics and sacred objects that represent energy, fire, passion and expansion.
Choose a tarot or oracle deck with a spring energy like the Seasons of the Witch: Beltane Oracle, ones featured here or another beloved deck of your choice. Then layout the following spread:
Card 1: What part of me is ready to ignite?
Card 2: What desire do I need to honor in this season?
Card 3: What fear or false story has been dampening my flames?
Card 4: What am I ready to claim or become?
Take a few moments to reflect on each card drawn within this spread, journaling your feelings and interpretations. Then, culminate this ritual with something sensual to integrate the message. You might dance, receive a massage, use your hands to create something like pottery or take an indulgent ritual bath.
You may wish to place your final card upon your altar or I recommend the Primal or Self-Worship card from Seasons of the Witch: Beltane Oracle.
Make It Physical
Magic such as tarot or working with the seasons isn’t just mental—it's sensory and something you can embody. Anchor this ritual further by:
Dressing in something bold such as a bright lipstick, neon pantsuit or a statement piece of jewelry
Write down your desires on a piece of paper and burn it to symbolize igniting your intentions
Wear a fragrance that gives you a feeling of power
Choose a gesture to repeat everyday through Beltane such as lighting a candle, sunbathing or acting as if you’re already the version you pulled in your fourth card.
Beltane is a fire that wants to be welcomed—not controlled. Let this ritual be a rekindling of self-trust. Not to fix what’s broken, but to ignite what’s already alive inside you.
