Energy of the Month: Wheel of Fortune & The Tao
Nothing lasts forever so if 2022 and especially the end of last year was a challenging time for you, you can expect things to turn around this month. Generally the wheel in the upright position represents a positive change in fortune. Don’t question the good when it comes for this has been set in motion for some time. But the opposite is also true. If you have been in a favorable time, be sure to make the most of what you have now. You never know when your circumstances can change for the worse. If you feel happy then let that feel wash over your entire being. Don’t look for reasons to worry because you will surely find them.
The Tao card says you can trust the spiritual guidance you are receiving but if you doubt it, take a moment to consider how it feels. True spiritual guidance is not judgmental or feels like a burden. It may be challenging or push you to get out of your comfort zone but you know it came from a benevolent source when it lights you up and makes you think of what is possible. True guidance never puts you or anyone else down and as long as the guidance you receive feels joyous and peaceful, then you know it is meant for you.
Obstacle to overcome: Five of Cups
This card represents self-pity and someone who is entirely focused on the past. Don’t let a situation that didn’t work out of you take one more moment of your mental real estate. Things don’t always go to plan and sometimes people disappoint you or their true colors come out but that doesn’t mean you have to dwell on them. You’ll continue to stagnate if you allow the past to keep this hold on you. You can overcome this obstacle by turning your attention to something positive. Is there something you can salvage from a past experience? Perhaps a new opportunity presents itself and ends up being just the kind of thing to distract you from the past? Don’t let life pass you by because you can’t forget, forgive or move on. It only hurts you because whoever did you wrong, is probably doing exactly what you need to do now, look to the future.

On the surface and based on the guidebook, this card guides you to work with moon energy which made me laugh a little bit. For one, I’m writing a book right now about moon inspired ritual potions but also, because recently I have felt called to deepen my moon energy practice. But on a deeper level, this card has nothing to do with the moon, at least not so directly. It's more about opening yourself up to the spirit realms, letting yourself be a channel for manifestation, light, hope and joy. There’s been a lot of destruction in the world over recent years. A lot of things have been torn down, challenged, and dare I say, canceled. But at some point, we have to stop looking for things to demolish and start building back up. And now is that time to rise. To let good fill you up until it overflows you. To connect with people, connect with spirit and experience the feelings of joy once again. You don’t need to heal anymore. Its time for you to bloom and thrive.
