Absolute favorite card: (4) Look Closer, She is Not Lonely

My favorite cards: (6) She Sleeps With the Stars, (1) Wishes, (45) Transcendent Amidst the Everyday, (42) She is Moonlight-shy, (39) The Golden of Hallowed Moonlight, (25) Ancestors and Apples, (19) The Gathering, (20) The Maiden and the Imbolc Lamb, (37) Her Little Cauldron, (14) Self-Initiation

I fell in love with this deck the moment I saw it. I knew right away, it would be a perfect match for my own deck, Seasons of the Witch: Imbolc Oracle as the theme is also about the solitary practitioner and turning your focus inward. Not to mention, they share such similar styles. They are both desaturated (which speaks directly to my heart), have pops of icy blues, and are incredibly grounded, moody and earthy.

More and more, I find myself attracted to decks with subdued colors. Don’t get me wrong, I love color. I’ve always had to have the biggest, baddest crayon sets, paints, color pencils, and all the art supplies. But I have found my soul loves the muted and desaturated shades. There’s something about a toned down shade that feels comforting and relaxing. That’s the vibe I get with this deck. It’s full of color but still has a peaceful quality to it. It’s like every card is bathed in moonlight.

From a reading POV, this deck will push you to walk your own path. It speaks of making the difficult choice to be an outside if it means being authentic to who you are. It speaks of untrue friends and other connections, the challenges of going it alone, and the joys that come with the complete freedom of being the owner of your life.

In my opinion, this is a deck for people who are truly ready to be true to themselves, no matter the cost. This is not an easy journey, authenticity. But it’s also one of the few journeys that actually count. So I would recommend this deck to everyone although, probably very few will be ready for it.

If I had to pick a con, it would be the card size which is just a Blue Angel thing. The cards are really large and I find it difficult to shuffle sometimes. But, the trade off is the box which has a lot of extra space. I like to store crystals and herbs in Blue Angel boxes to keep the energy of my decks clear at all times. There aren’t many other publishers who leave enough space to do this.

All in all, it’s a beautiful deck. I want to save it for a bit to work with it in the days following Yule when I’ll break out my own deck, the Seasons of the Witch Imbolc oracle and use them together. I’ll update you here when I’ve used them together for a couple of weeks.
